Wire Rope Maintenance

Bridge crane wire rope safe using life largely depends on the protection of the wire rope, therefore, the proper use and protection of the wire rope is the major work. Normally the user should do according to the following:

1. Wire rope leave factory as a disc packaging, when open the original volume wire rope, we should carry out according to proper way, it should not form distorted or knotted.
2. When the wire rope blocked, there should have ways to avoid the strands scattered.
3. When assembling the bridge crane wire rope, should not put the wire rope on the unclean place, should not around on the other objects, and should avoid grinding, rolling and excessive twists and turns.
4. Wire rope should maintain glazing in good condition. Glazing at least 2 times per month, first with a wire brush to brush away dirt on the wire rope, and with kerosene cleaning, and then dipped lubricating oil which heated to above 80 ℃ in the rope, so that make the lubricating oil into the rope cord. During lubricating, should be attention to the place that not easy to notice, smooth and not easy to get close to, such as the wire rope in the equalizer pulley.
5. For the common use wire rope, every day should be checked, including the fixed link of the end part, balanced pulley, and make security identification.
6. When collect the wire rope, it is necessary to check the wire rope certificate, in order to ensure the mechanical function, standards are the same as the original portrayed rules of the wire rope.
7. For the overhead crane wire rope, it should avoid damage, corrosion, or other function decreases caused by physical and chemicals reasons.
