VAM Systems is currently looking for IT Scrum Technical / Business Analyst Consultant for our UAE operations with the following skillsets & terms and conditions:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF ROLE
Secondary or Tertiary Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher / Master’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems
No. of Years Experience:
- 2 years in similar role
- 4 to 6 years in software testing and or development with business analysis experience
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES OF THE JOB
- Scrum Master Fundamentals Training – Must Have
- Certified Scrum Master / Professional Scrum Master – Nice to have
- IELTS / CSTE / CSQA – Nice to have
- Business Applications: Insurance, Campaign Management, CRM/Customer Service
- Software Engineering: J2EE, XML(XSD, DTD, WSDL) , SQL, REST
- Integration Technologies: Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web Services, SOAP, REST, WSDL, WebMethods
- Modeling / Reporting Tools: Eclipse, Visio, XML SPY.
- Databases: Oracle, Microsoft SQL

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT
Review the business needs, Define, Document and Communicate Integration product’s requirements, in collaboration with the main IT stakeholders, for projects.
Be operationally in charge of Business Analysis and Test activities (design and execution) during project releases and follow up on Business Analysis and Test progression.
Coordinate with vendors and business to remove any barriers for testing and report progress.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
a) Areas of Knowledge:
- Strong Experience in documenting and executing requirements
- Strong Experience in creating Themes/Epics/User Stories and deriving Acceptance Criteria
- Strong Experience in testing against the following technologies: Java, SQL, Middleware, REST, SOAP. XML, API’s.
- Strong Experience in writing Junit tests using Eclipse IDE and Cucumber for test automation is highly desirable
- Professional experience debugging large integrated software system. Ability to debug complex XML’s, middleware logs, write database scripts and perform technical testing
- Experience in working with development teams and solution providers
- Experience in liaising among stakeholders (internal technology support team and vendors on escalated incidents) to manage the business analysis, translating high level business requirements into detailed solution design documentation with test planning and application rollout.
- Agile experience/knowledge of key agile techniques including Kanban, Lean, XP, and Scrum. At least 2+ years of working in a scrum team.
- Knowledge of SOA Architecture
- Knowledge of Web Service Design
- Knowledge of modeling tool (ex. Visio) and artifacts UML, XSD, WDSL
- Basic knowledge of the insurance business
- Basic understanding of market practices/business processes
- English, written and spoken
Main Accountability
Tasks assigned to this level require an in-depth and broader understanding of problem identification, analysis and resolution, and a basic knowledge of architecture patterns and methodology.
b) Essential responsibilities:
- Design the technical requirements fulfilled by existing and proposed software
- Define, assess, document and develop technical requirements and provide support to development teams
- Mapping Source Data and Operation Model provided by the Back Ends with Canonical Model and Specific Interfaces defined by the integration requirements
- Define and Document Service Oriented Architecture specification
- Maintain model and documentation updated in a UML / XSD / WDSL repository
- Create test cases and scenarios from the functional specifications of the new released software and process
- Prepare and create test data of the testing scenarios and their dedicated chronograms
- Perform testing as specified in the test documentation usually over several test cycles (including regression testing, etc.)
- Document test and verify results HP QC/ALM
- Ensure that:
- High quality and appropriate test conditions, scripts and data are produced
- All problems records have the correct owner to ensure resolution is obtained
- Identify the reasons why a problem record occurred
- Work closely with the Regional IT Test Manager, Vendor and Architecture team to ensure the smooth running of the testing phase
- All project members are aware of progress / issues that occur within the testing phase. An effective issue escalation route is in place
- Contribute to research and analysis of problems
- Track, record and follow the defects encountered during testing with suppliers
- Assign problem records for further action
Communication & Interactions:
- Interact with main IT actors for the definition of the actions
- Contribute to relationship with integration solutions vendors
- Contribute to building efficiency gains through implementation of best practices
c) Business Knowledge:
- Basic knowledge of the insurance business
- Basic understanding of market practices/business processes
- Prior experience of software development is highly desirable

- Ability to cope with many external suppliers in an international context
- Creativity, speed, high tech experience will be key to success
